What We Offer
We are a small, independent retail business, and we want to be upfront about what we can and cannot offer. Unlike larger corporate retailers, we currently do not provide traditional health, dental, or vision insurance. We do, however, help assist in getting a supplemental insurance policy through Allstate and work hard to offer our employees meaningful benefits in other ways.
We are looking for someone who already has 1–3 years of experience working on a retail sales floor and understands the fundamentals of retail: customer service, merchandising, stocking, maintaining a sales floor, working with inventory, and helping the store operate efficiently.
This position is best suited for someone who wants to take the next step in their retail career and gain real-world experience and responsibility that can strengthen their resume.
We may not be able to compete with large corporate retailers on hourly pay or benefits, but we can offer something those companies often cannot: hands-on experience in a small business where your work has a direct impact on the success of the store.
You will have the opportunity to learn more than simply operating a register or stocking shelves. Depending on your performance and initiative, you may gain experience in areas such as merchandising, inventory management, sales, customer relations, store operations, problem-solving, and taking ownership of specific areas of the business.
We also believe in rewarding our employees. Each year, we provide a sizeable Christmas bonus to all employees, and our annual Christmas party includes additional employee appreciation opportunities. In past years, these have included tools, paid time off, and, on occasion, cash prizes and other significant giveaways.
Most importantly, we want our employees to leave here better prepared for their next opportunity.
This position may not be your permanent destination—and we don't necessarily expect it to be. Our goal is to provide you with experience that gives you a leg up when you pursue your next position in retail. If you take ownership of your work, learn the business, develop your skills, and make the most of the opportunities available to you, the experience you gain here can help propel you into a better position with a larger retailer, management role, or another career opportunity.
If you're looking for a place to simply collect a paycheck, this may not be the right position. If you're looking for an opportunity to build your retail experience, take on responsibility, and make yourself more marketable for your next career move, we'd like to talk to you.
